Anthem is extending the Open Enrollment deadline to December 31, 2014 for consumers who want to apply for their Individual plans sold off the exchange with a January 1, 2015 effective date.
You will need to use Anthem’s paper application to help clients enroll, which can be downloaded via the Individual Supplies link in the Sales & Training section of the Producer Toolbox. And as always, the first month’s premium must be included with the application. Without the January premium, clients will lose eligibility for the January 1 effective date. All paperwork must be submitted and date stamped by close of business on December 31.
You can submit applications via Anthem’s E-Submit as well. The process is easy and gives you a tracking number if you need to follow up on your submission.
As a reminder, Anthem ID cards for this extension period may not reach a member by January 1, 2015.
