The Average Total Number of Employees (ATNE) Cover Letter Employer Information Form and Group Size Survey are being sent to your affected clients prior to their renewal dates. UnitedHealthcare is asking for your assistance in helping them educate joint clients in why completing this survey is so important.
Because of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) impact, it is necessary for your clients to complete the Group Size Survey in 2015 and return it to UnitedHealthcare within 30 days of receipt. The survey is a critical resource used to determine the groups’ rating structures and product selections.
With the ACA changing the “small group” definition from 1-50 to 1-100, effective Jan. 1, 2016, groups with an ATNE, eligible or full-time equivalent employee count of 1-100 are subject to adjusted community rating. This action will occur when determining premium rates unless the customer is grandfathered, adopting an alternate plan year or is taking advantage of Transitional Relief.
