Groups 2-99 will be moved into community rates (ACA compliant plans) after 10/1/16.
(51-99): Groups are being given the option to change their renewal date to 10/1/15. If a group changes their renewal date in 2015 then could still make a plan change/add additional options on the current plan platforms. The option to change the renewal is available in 2016 as well however any plan change in 2016 the group makes they must move over to the community rated ACA options.
*Please note: Humana is not giving projections of what the 10/1 renewals will look like.
**The early renewal option cannot be rescinded.
Example: A group renewed 4/1/15 with Humana. They now have the option to change their contract date to 10/1/15 and get another renewal then. Come their 10/1/15 renewal, they will have the option to renew as-is or make a plan change to any other plan that is risk rated. They will renew again 10/1/16 and be offered a renewal on the same plan. They will then have the option to renew as-is or make a plan change to an ACA community rated plan design. Should they renew as-is, they will be able to keep that plan until 10/1/17. At the 10/1/17 renewal they would be mapped over to an ACA community rated plan.
The next option with this same group that renewed 4/1/15: They do not change their renewal date to 10/1/15. As of 4/1/16 they will get a renewal on their current plan design that is risk rated. From there they can either renew as-is or make a plan change to an ACA community rated plan. Any changes made will put them into the ACA compliant plans. They will get the option to early renew and change their contract date to 10/1/16 if they would like to renew as-is again until 10/1/17.
