Assurant announces exit of the Individual Medical, Small Group Fully Insured and Short Term Medical markets.
Important details for agents:
-The last day for sales of these products will be June 15, 2015.
-The wind-down of these product lines will begin immediately; a substantial portion of Assurant’s exit will be complete by the end of 2016
-Assurant will meet all claims, benefits, provider payments and agent commission responsibilities during this transition.
Assurant is also finalizing the sale of its remaining business lines to National General Holdings Corp*, which includes Small Group Self-Funded, Assurant Supplemental Coverage, and the North Star Marketing distribution channel.
Until then, agents can continue to sell these products.
