Many ACA enrollees discovering their plans don’t include their physicians, hospitals.

The Associated Press reports that consumers across the country are discovering that they bought plans with limited doctor and hospital networks, some after websites that mistakenly said their doctors were included. This “dilemma,” the article says, “undercuts President Obama’s 2009 pledge that: ‘If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period.’”

The The Daily Caller reported that health insurers now admit that under the ACA, “patient choice can no longer be a priority for Americans.” According to the Daily Caller, health insurers’ costs are rising, and if they “are going to keep prices at a manageable level, narrow networks are one of their only options.” Moreover, cancer centers “have been a primary casualty of narrow networks.”

An analysis by the AP found that just four of the 19 top comprehensive cancer centers are covered by all Obamacare exchange plans in their states.
