CMS now requires agents AND agencies to be certified to sell with the FFM in order to receive carrier commissions.
If you are writing any on-exchange business and paying commissions to an agency, you should immediately get your agency certified to sell for the FFM, regardless of carrier.
The deadline to complete 2015 certification is June 15!
This applies to agencies when:
-Agents enter their agency’s National Producer Number (NPN) during the enrollment process when assisting a client with an on-exchange Humana plan.
-Agents want their commissions paid directly to their agency as directed on an agent Business Transferral Form.
-Agents assist members who use your agency NPN when enrolling through healthcare.gov.
